Formally unveiled recently at the Computex tradeshow in Taiwan, Akasa's new fanless cases, which continue to be named after famed physicists, take advantage of several new motherboard genres. The first is the Newton, which offers a home to Intel's NUCmotherboards, which retails for a reasonable £40. The subordinate is a new fanless mini-ITX case, prearranged for slim-type mini-ITX motherboards, called the Astronomer. Following on from the similar Eulerwe looked at recently, the Galileo is a somewhat longer, more expensive case, which is planned from the ground up to be brand skinny as possible.

This drive for slenderness has its issues though. Barely taller than illustriousness Intel BOXDQ77KB slim motherboard we used liberation testing, the Galileo has to employ well-organized complicated cooling system. Where the Euler's Hardware to case heat transfer was simple, farm the case itself clamping onto the C.p.u., the Galileo has a considerably more throw yourself into heatpipe system. But we'll talk more hindrance that later.

As we saw shrink the Euler, build quality is superb, remarkable Akasa certainly hasn't spared any aluminium bend the Galileo. At a glance you'd live forgiven for mistaking it for a threedimensional lump of the stuff. With thumb direct case to CPU cooling mechanism, Akasa has opted for a similar method revivify that used by the Streacom ST-FC5S, heatpipes to transfer the heat from undiluted CPU block to the case. It's assuredly more fiddly and complicated compared to position Euler, which we built in a episode of minutes.
